Global Technology Exchange Program
Program Overview
Objectives
· To assist and support technology trades by matching up Korean SMEs which possess high level of in-house technology with the overseas enterprises wishing for import such technology through intergovernmental cooperation (G2G)
· Forms of Technology Exchanges
Organizer
· MSS (Korea Ministry of SMEs and Startups) / INNOBIZ (Korea Innovation Business Association), KOSMES (Korea SMEs and Startups Agency) & TIPA (Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs)
Qualified Applicants
· Korean SMEs those possess competitive in-house technology wishing to export such technology to companies overseas
· Non-qualified ‘Applicants are as follows
- - Companies whose business is NOT in active state.
- - Companies in arrears with national and local taxes
- - Companies whose information is registered, such as overdue, subrogation/subpayment, bankruptcy, related persons, financial disorder, reconciliation, court management, corporate rehabilitation application, and liquidation procedures, in accordance with the “Credit Information Management Regulations” of the National Federation of Banks
- - In case that the applicant prepared the submittals which are incorrect and/or false
Exchange Program
- - Supply Technolgy : Technology that korean companies desire to transfer to overseas companies
- - Demand Technology : Technology that oversea companies want to be transferred from korean companies

| Support for technology exchange through the establishment of a technology exchange center in a local government agency for cooperation between the Korean government and the local government (G2G) | |

① (Not Techonology register) Must register supply technology at Global Technology Exchange Platform (G-TEP / www.g-tep.or.kr) - access to www.g-tep.or.kr and login → click on ’PMS’ → Register ’Supply Technology’
② (Techonology Register) Apply for regular technology exchange hosted by government agencies

· Discovery of Supply/ Demamd Technology
① Discovery of Korean / Oversea companies desiring to exchange technology- Through the Global Technology Exchange Online Platform (G-TEP), the discovery service can be provided at all times. (Discovery of demand technology)
- Supply Technology
- Discovery of Domestic SMEs those possess excellent technology which can be exported overseas
- Demand Technology
- Discovery of Local Companies those have genuine demand of technology exchange
② Technical Analysis by Technical Commercilization Coordinator- Technical Commercialization Coordinators will visit the korean companies in person to evaluate the supply technology and adequacy of the technology exchange* As of November 2022, INNOBIZ have 49 technical coordinators. (The expertise of the coordinators: machinery, chemicals, textiles, electricity, electronics and etc...)

· SMEs and startups wishing to export technology to companies in emerging countries
Application Period
· At all times (all year round)

· Support for dispatch of technology exchange group or online technology exchange conference* Discovering and matching local companies, interpreting fees, counseling center and vehicle rental fees, etc. (excluding airfare and accommodation fees)

② Register ‘Supply Technology
* Supply Technology : The technology that Korean company wish to transfer to Oversea company
Demand Technology : The technology that Oversea company with to be transferred from Korean company
** Existing supply technology registered companies can immediately apply for regular technology exchange with ‘INNOBIZ Association’
③ After clicking on the technology exchange(Regular) menu, click on ‘INNOBIZ Association’ as the host organization
④ After selecting the desired country, apply for a consultation
Selection method
· Company selection through quantitative and non-quantitative evaluation
① (Quantitative) Evaluate whether a company has excellent management stability, technology, employment creation, and exports through review of corporate submitted materials
② (Non-quantitative) Selective Evaluation Committee shall be held to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of project conditions, technology export possibilities, and local marketability

Interpretation, Translation, Transportation, Expert Consultation Services Support for the B2B Contract
Target
·Korean SMEs and startups those require support at the initial stage of negotiating contract with overseas companies on technology exchange* In addition to regular technology exchange (consultation), permanent technology exchange support is available even during contract negotiations related to technology exchange with local companies.

· At all times during the year
Details of Support
· Local vehicle, local interpretation, local contract negotiation related document translation, legal advice, and other indirect support required for contract
· Support Limit per one-time: KRW 3M (Up-to 2 times per year)
Qualified Applicants
· A company that can present concrete evidence of contract promotion, such as the contract negotiation partner, technology transfer conditions, export unit price and volume negotiation details, etc.* It is recommended to review and confirm the qualification/ requirements with the person in charge at INNOBIZ in prior to the application.

Fraunhofer Researcher Consultation for Advanced Technology Adaption
Target
· SMEs and startups that need technological innovation through the introduction of advanced overseas technologies in connection with world-class research institutes such as the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany/p>
Details of Support
· Recruitment fee of the matched-up local researcher, seminar fee, local transport, other indirect support required for contract and etc...

· Areas of Recruitment * Areas of Recruitment in 2022 : Energy storage (fuel cell, secondary battery), carbon reduction process (decarbonization/purification process), secondary battery quality control (electrode material, cell in-line non-destructive test)

· Separate recruitment announcement shall be released during May – June every year * Announcement shall be either posted on ‘Notice’ menu at the INNOBIZ website (www.innobiz.or.kr) and sent via emails ** The companies shall be selected after investigation of adequacy of the technology developed by Fraunhofer Institute
